INDIAN FRIED FISH  IN LEMONY POTATO GRAVY

A simple and flavor packed tangy but spicy curry that is ideal for serving as a main dish or side.

INGREDIENTS Fish Turmeric Salt Red chili powder Green chile Mustard oil Mustard seeds Lemon Potatoes Fresh coriander Water Oil for frying

Season the fish on all sides with turmeric, chili powder, and salt.  Then set aside to rest for 15 to 20 minutes.

Heat oil for frying in a deep bottomed skillet and place seasoned fish in the pan.  Cook for 3 minuets per side until cooked through and golden.  Remove and set aside to drain on paper.

In a clean skillet, heat the mustard oil, mustard seeds, green chile, turmeric, and red pepper powder.  Add in the cooked potatoes and stir, then cook for 5 minutes.

Add the water to the pan and stir, simmering until thickened.  Then add lemon, salt, and fish.  Simmer a few more minutes until desired consistency.

Serve this dish with rice, roti, and naan or as a side to another main dish curry.
