MANGO DAL RECIPE

This sweet and tangy dal recipe is fast, easy, and perfect for a side to any curry! Serve with extra mango on top!

INGREDIENTS Yellow pigeon peas Olive oil Mustard seeds Red chiles Turmeric powder Chili powder Coriander powder Ground cumin Salt Mango puree Mango chunks

In a small skillet, heat oil, mustard seeds, and red chili until they crackel.  Add ground cumin, coriander, chili powder, and turmeric to skillet and cook an additional 1 minute.

Add in the mango puree and stir to combine.  Cook for 2 minutes before adding in the cooked yellow dal and stirring to combine.

Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture is cooked through and the desired consistency you want.  Season to taste with additional salt before serving.

Top the mango dal with fresh mango pieces and serve with naan or roti.
